StumbleUponStumbleUpon is a unique content sharing network because its sharing format has been coined as a ‘Discovery Engine’, but its not related to Bing in any way. This particular content search engine allows every user to explore the best parts of the online world, most of which have been recommended by fellow users. This allows every bit of content to be shared to interested viewers only.

The network is classified as a social bookmarking tool and it shares many of the same characteristics as Digg and Reddit. However it offers a much different user experience and this is due to its content sharing system and how it categorizes and every submission.

What StumbleUpon Unique

  • Mass Traffic: After you get around 50 or so ‘Thumbs Up’, their unique voting system, you can start to see some serious traffic, usually visitors by the thousands. This network is well known for providing mass amounts of traffic randomly as well, even if you only submit content and leave it.
  • User Base: Stumble Upon has over double Digg’s user base, so the numbers are around 11 million active user accounts. This can create godly amounts of traffic for any website that provides interesting and unique content.
  • Vast Selections: There are dozens of individual categories that you can submit your content under, which makes your content more likely to be viewed because the users viewing the category have selected it out of specific interest.

Any Downsides?

  • Mass Content: While there is an unbelievable amount of users in StumbleUpon network, the majority of those users submit content. This means that some submission can be lost in the wave of submitted content. The thumbs up and down voting system tends to balance this out, so its not a terribly common problem.
